The music on this album sprang out of my work for the MAGAM project and consists of 3 suites โ€“2 of which have, in earlier stages, been used for a butoh and a dance performance respectivelyโ€“ that cover the distance from aleatoric to improvised to composed music... What I like most about it is its playfulness.

The album title was initially inspired by Kurt Vonnegut's concept of "a nation of two" (in "Mother Night", 1962):
